About

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to my website and thank you for showing interest in my private naturopathic practice for psychotherapy “BE YOURSELF”.

Here you will learn more about me and my practice, where my focus is the method of Gestalt psychotherapy founded by Fritz Perls.

I offer client-centered therapy, using the roll play – empty chair method, while being attentive to what is needed in your present situation.

Our starting point together:

You are perfect just as you are in this moment.
From there onwards I will guide and support you in your process, towards learning how to make conscious decisions for yourself, based on who you really are and what you choose for yourself in your life.

There is no stigma attached to needing therapy.

The time to start is right now!

Biography – Brinesse Pfuderer

Born in Johannesburg from British descendants, I received my education, lived and worked in South Africa until I was 26 years old. In 1996 I immigrated to the Lake of Constance in Germany. I am married, have two almost adult children and became a German citizen in 2010.

During my final years in South Africa and the first five years in Germany, I worked as a sports clothing designer running my own business. While in Germany I qualified as a certified Aerobics and Hot-Iron® Instructor, teaching in sport studios and community establishments.

Around 2011, I started devoting more of my attention, not only to the health of the body but also to the health of the mind, which had been a constant interest of mine since being a teenager.

In 2011 to 2012 I received training in Family Constellations Therapy with Eva Albrecht-Eckart, using the method of role play, carried out in a group setting to uncover and resolve deep seated personal and family structures.

Also beginning in 2012 I embarked on an intensive training course to become a certified Gestalt Therapist, spanning over 5 years with Hans Jürgen Krebs at the IGGP : Private Institute for Holistic Gestalt Therapy and Personality Development. This included my own private individual sessions and working within group settings. Presently I belong to an ongoing supervision group and a peer group to stay abreast in the field.

Parallel to this, I began a correspondence course with theSGD -The Study Community of Darmstadt SGD- Studien Gemeinschaft Darmstadt studying the theory of psychotherapy, in preparation for my state exam as a Naturopath for Psychotherapy.
Finally receiving my state certificate and qualification in January 2019.
The German title being: Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie in Tübingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany.

For my exam preparation, I volunteered and worked in the acute inpatient ward, at the Weissenau psychiatric hospital in Ravensburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg.

In 2018 I attended the Tapping Plus® training course – learning the technique of Tapping, with with Petra Hurt at the Genuine Sense Certified Training Institute for Therapy and Coaching.

Gestalt therapy was developed by Fritz Perls in the 1940`s.

“Reality can only be endured, when it is discovered by the self”.

Fritz Perls

The uniqueness of each person is highly valued in Gestalt Therapy.
We are interested in the individual’s experience, aiming to mould a new reality according to their needs and wishes, allowing for more personal control and stability. The focus is not on a “cure” but on the personal development and growth of the individual’s potential. It’s about learning to be yourself, and discovering who you really are.

“Gestalt” is a German word meaning a complete shape or figure, which has structure or meaning. In Gestalt Therapy we aim to address incomplete shapes or figures, i.e. hurts or other unresolved issues, so as to transform them into a complete shape, figure or a now resolved issue or situation.

Gestalt Therapy uses a positive approach and is a creative process, using inspiration and curiosity from all things available to us, helping us to discover our own beliefs and convictions.

In learning to take responsibility for your own outlook on life, you attain the power to create or recreate the layout of your inner landscape. Realising that you are not a victim but learn how to consciously navigate a new perception of a situation and how you can experience situations independently of what your environment may have dictated to you in the past.

“The important thing is not what others made of me, But what I make of what they made of me”.

Sartre

“Tapping lies at the intersection of the Eastern lineage of acupressure or acupuncture and the Western lineage of psychology and other mind-body processes. It is at this intersection that the true magic happens.” Nick Ortner

Tapping is a form of acupressure which increases the endorphins
“The feel good” neurotransmitter levels in the brain.
Through tapping we activate the body along the traditional acupuncture or meridian points on the face or hands for instance.

Dysfunctional thoughts, negative emotions and memories can be loosened, replaced and transformed by simultaneously tapping along the meridians and saying positive affirmations.
